As of October 26, 2026, no refurbished iPhone Duo or iPhone 18 Pro is on sale in the US. Apple announced both on September 9. The 18 Pro went on sale on September 18 and the Duo on October 23, and refurbishers can only sell phones that buyers have returned or traded in.
The first units of this generation are trickling out already. In the UK, RefurbMe has tracked refurbished iPhone 18 Pro listings since September 30, and in the US it recorded one refurbished iPhone 18 Pro Max at eBay Refurbished on October 23, out of stock by October 25. Based on RefurbMe's tracking, the first US refurbished iPhone 18 Pro should appear in the second half of November 2026 and the first iPhone Duo around January 2027. Until then, a refurbished iPhone 17 Pro is the better buy.
TL;DR
Refurbished stock for a new iPhone follows returns and trade-ins, not the launch date. RefurbMe's Time-to-Refurb for the iPhone family is 67 days in the US, counted from Apple's announcement (as of October 2026). The September announcements added two new iPhone lines, AirPods 5 and new Mac desktops. Prices below are Apple's US launch prices for the base configuration, from Apple's Newsroom announcements.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max start $100 higher than the iPhone 17 Pro ($1,099) and 17 Pro Max ($1,199) did at launch in September 2025. They run the A20 Pro chip, come in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy, and go up to 2TB of storage. The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable: a 5.4-inch outer display that opens into a 7.6-inch inner one, the same A20 Pro chip, Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID, and two colors, Night Sky and Star White. Storage runs from 256GB at $1,999 to 2TB at $3,199.
Apple has not released a standard iPhone 18. The iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone 16 stay on sale new, which matters for the refurbished market because a model Apple keeps selling new keeps its refurbished price high for longer.
RefurbMe measures this with a figure we call Time-to-Refurb: the median number of days between Apple's announcement of a model and the first day it is in stock at any refurbisher we track. For the iPhone family in the US it stands at 67 days as of October 2026 (iPhone refurbished stats). Counted from the 18 Pro's September 9 announcement, that points to mid-November 2026.
Last year's Pro models bracket that estimate. RefurbMe recorded the first refurbished iPhone 17 Pro in the US at Gazelle on November 22, 2025, and the first 17 Pro Max at Back Market on October 19, 2025. If the 18 Pro follows the 17 Pro, a first US listing lands in late November 2026. The 18 Pro Max is already ahead of that pace: RefurbMe recorded a refurbished unit at eBay Refurbished on October 23, 2026, about six weeks after Apple's announcement, and it was out of stock by October 25.
Two things could slow the US down. The higher starting price may hold back some of the annual upgraders who feed the trade-in channel. And Apple's own Certified Refurbished store lags far behind the third parties. On October 26, 2026, its US refurbished iPhone page listed iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 15 Plus and 16 Plus models and no iPhone 17 model, more than a year after the 17 Pro launched. An Apple-refurbished 18 Pro is unlikely before late 2027.
Outside the US the picture varies. In the UK the 18 Pro is already there: RefurbMe recorded the first refurbished unit at eBay Refurbished on September 30, 2026, three weeks after Apple's announcement, and the UK iPhone median is 45 days (as of October 2026). In Canada the median is 289 days, and the 17 Pro first appeared refurbished at Orchard on May 27, 2026. Canadian buyers should plan on 2027 rather than Black Friday.
Later than the 18 Pro, for three reasons. The first is timing. The 18 Pro went on sale nine days after its announcement, but the Duo went on sale on October 23, 44 days after Apple announced it. Counted from that on-sale date, the 67-day median lands at the end of December 2026. The second is the buyer. The Duo is a first-generation product at $1,999, so early buyers are enthusiasts who keep their phones, not annual upgraders who trade them in. Fewer trade-ins means a thinner refurbished supply for the first few months.
The third reason is the hinge. Refurbishers grade phones on cosmetics, battery and function, and a folding display adds a component they have never tested at scale. Expect the first refurbished iPhone Duo listings to be few, graded conservatively, and priced close to new. That is what the first refurbished 18 Pro listings in the UK look like, and the Duo has more reasons to be cautious.

The first listings of this generation are not bargains. On October 26, 2026, Back Market listed an unlocked 256GB iPhone 18 Pro in the UK at £1,258, above Apple's £1,199 for a new 256GB model, and none of the UK refurbished 18 Pro listings in RefurbMe's read that day was below Apple's price. The lowest UK price RefurbMe has recorded so far is £1,139, at TLX on September 30, 2026.
Expect the first US refurbished 18 Pro listings to sit close to Apple's $1,199 for a 256GB model, and the first Duo listings close to $1,999. Prices fall once trade-in volume builds, and that takes months. The iPhone 17 Pro shows the pace: the lowest US refurbished price RefurbMe has recorded for it, $850 at Amazon Renewed, came in April 2026, about seven months after launch.
Across every iPhone RefurbMe has tracked, the median Refurb Discount is 77% as of October 2026, but that family figure is dominated by models that are five to ten years old. It describes where prices end up, not where a phone a few months old starts.
Apple no longer sells the iPhone 17 Pro or 17 Pro Max new. Its US iPhone store now lists the iPhone Duo, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17e and the iPhone 16. That does two things to the refurbished market at once: it cuts off new supply, and it turns the 17 Pro into the natural trade-in for everyone buying an 18 Pro, which should add refurbished 17 Pro stock over the coming months.

An unlocked refurbished 17 Pro at $966 from Back Market is $233 less than a new 18 Pro. If you are on T-Mobile, Back Market also had a T-Mobile 512GB unit at $927, the lowest 17 Pro price in the read. What you give up is the A20 Pro chip, the variable-aperture main camera and the new colors. We did not compare the grades of these listings, so check the condition and warranty on each seller's page before you buy. For most people that is a fair trade, and the price is more likely to fall than rise between now and the new year.
If the Pro camera is not the point, the refurbished iPhone 17 is cheaper again: unlocked 256GB units start at $712 at Back Market, with Amazon Renewed at $803. Two of the three other products have already appeared refurbished in the US, but only as single listings so far.
RefurbMe recorded the first refurbished AirPods 5 at Amazon Renewed on September 25, 2026, at $129, the same as Apple's new price, and on October 26 none was in stock. Steady supply will take longer: AirPods have a median Time-to-Refurb of 202 days in the US, and AirPods Pro 193 days (as of October 2026, AirPods refurbished stats). The AirPods 4 are the pair to buy refurbished today, and the refurbished AirPods page lists every generation with live prices.
The Mac mini M6 is the same story. RefurbMe recorded its first refurbished unit at eBay Refurbished on October 20, 2026: one 16GB, 256GB unit at $859, $40 under Apple's $899 for that base configuration, last seen the same day. The Mac mini family's median Time-to-Refurb is 108 days (as of October 2026), and the refurbished Mac mini page is where the outgoing M4 and M4 Pro will get cheaper this winter.
The Mac Studio is the slowest of the three. Its family median is 300 days (as of October 2026), and the early 2025 Mac Studio first appeared refurbished at Apple's own refurbished store on July 2, 2026, about 16 months after its March 2025 launch.
