What warranty comes with a refurbished iPhone 14 Pro Max?

Will a refurbished iPhone work with my carrier?
An unlocked refurbished iPhone works with any carrier that supports its network bands, so it is the safe choice when you are unsure. A carrier-locked iPhone only works on the network it was tied to. RefurbMe shows each listing's carrier and lets you filter to unlocked models, so you can match a phone to your network before you buy.

Are refurbished phones locked to a carrier?
Some refurbished phones are locked to a single carrier, and some are sold unlocked. A carrier-locked iPhone only works with SIMs from the network it was tied to, while an unlocked one works on any compatible carrier. On RefurbMe you can see the status before you buy, because every iPhone listing says Unlocked or carrier-locked in its title, and on the US site you can filter to unlocked models only.
Can I use eSIM on a refurbished iPhone?
Yes. Refurbished iPhones support eSIM if the original model includes eSIM hardware. The refurbishment process does not affect eSIM capability. Any iPhone XS or later supports eSIM, and all iPhone 17 models and iPhone Air are eSIM-only worldwide (no physical SIM tray).
Do refurbished iPhones have a new battery?
Not every refurbished iPhone gets a new battery, but Apple Certified Refurbished iPhones always do. Apple states that every unit it refurbishes receives a brand-new battery and outer shell. Third-party refurbishers instead test the existing battery and replace it only if it falls below their standard. Whether the battery is new depends on who refurbished the phone.
Will a refurbished iPhone have an activation lock?
No. A refurbished iPhone from a professional refurbisher should never have an activation lock. Reputable sellers remove iCloud Activation Lock and erase all previous user data as a standard part of the refurbishment process.
