iPad Pro sizes

The current iPad Pro runs an M5 chip in 11 inch and 13 inch sizes. It reached stores on 22 October 2025 and kept the body Apple introduced with the M4 in May 2024: 5.3 mm thick at 11 inches, 5.1 mm at 13 inches. One caveat before shopping the top of the range: as of July 2026 the M5 has not yet appeared in RefurbMe's refurbished iPad Pro tracking. The newest generation in stock is the M4, and the family's median Time-to-Refurb is 105 days.

The iPad Air spans a wider range than any other line: 9.7 inches on the first model in 2013, up to the 13 inch panel Apple added in 2024 and kept for the M4 generation, announced 2 March 2026 and in stores from 11 March.

Size is where the Air makes its case. The 13 inch Air matches the 13 inch Pro to within a millimeter on height and width, and starts at $799 in the US against $1,299 for the Pro. You give up thinness and the Ultra Retina XDR panel, not screen area.

Last but not least (at least in power) is the iPad mini. The first iPad mini, launched in 2012, had a screen size of 7.9″, which Apple kept unchanged until the iPad mini 6, which has an 8.3″ screen.

The current model is the iPad mini 7, sold as iPad mini (A17 Pro) since 23 October 2024. It reuses the mini 6 body exactly, and by RefurbMe's tracking the mini is the slowest iPad to reach the refurbished market: a median Time-to-Refurb of 178 days against 115 for iPads overall.
