Gazelle buy refurbished iPad deals
Technology trade-in company Gazelle has been open since 2007. It was created on the idea that you should be able to trade in or buy a used mobile device as easy as you can trade in or buy a used car. The retailer sells refurbished iPads, as well as refurbished iPhones, MacBooks, and iMacs.

Gazelle has a certification and testing program called “Gazelle Certified” which shows you that it has gone through the company’s rigorous inspection process.

When Gazelle gets a pre-owned iPad, it will put the device through its 30 point inspection process, which is where the company examines its hardware and software for any faults. It will make sure that all parts of the iPad work and it will look at the cosmetic quality of the device so that it can give it a refurbished grade and give you an idea of what the iPad will look like when you buy it.

Refurbished iPads sold by Gazelle offer reasonably good discounts. Gazelle offers a 2013 iPad with 16GB of storage for just $139, which is a discount of $360 or 72%. The company is also selling a 2015 iPad Pro with 128GB of storage for $349 which is a discount of $600 or 63%.

As well as the good prices that it offers all year round, Gazelle also holds some limited time sales. In 2018, the Gazelle Black Friday sale offered up hefty discounts on its certified pre-owned products. You could get discounts of up to 30% on the iPhone 7, the MacBook Pro, and the 2017 iPad Pro. Those sales don’t happen often, so you’ll want to subscribe to the RefurbMe newsletter as we’ll tell you when a new sale goes live.

Refurbished iPads from quality refurbished retailers will be tested, repaired, and cleaned so that it is everything that you expected. However, it’s always good to get a bit more support and that’s what a warranty provides.

When you buy a refurbished iPad from Gazelle, you’ll get a free, 30-day warranty. With this warranty, you can return the iPad within 30 days of delivery if it has some sort of fault or isn’t working.

Gazelle also offers the option to pay for longer warranty coverage for your refurbished iPad. These coverage packages give you a one year warranty and give you accidental damage and mechanical breakdown coverage for your iPad too.

This iPad timeline shows that there have been 18 iPads released since 2010. Not all of these will be available as refurbished because of their age and popularity, but Gazelle does offer a good range.

The refurbished retailer sells iPads from 2012, right up to the 2018 iPad. It sells refurbished Pads, iPad Minis, iPad Pros, and iPad Airs. You can also choose your storage size, from 16GB up to 256GB, your screen size, from 7.9 inches to 12.9 inches. There are also different colors, such as white, space gray, black, and silver.

Gazelle also offers refurbished iPads of varied cosmetic quality. You can get a refurbished Grade B iPad, or good cosmetic quality, which will show some light scratches and marks or a refurbished Grade A iPad, or excellent cosmetic quality, which will look like new. We’ve written a full article about refurbished grades and what they mean.

Mac of All Trades

Mac Of All Trades refurbished iPad retailer
Since before it was cool, Mac of All Trades has been selling refurbished Apple products. For more than 20 years, the retailer has been offering refurbished iMacs, iPhones, MacBooks and iPads.

The retailer is a Google Trusted Store, has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and has been on the Inc. 5000 list for five years running. The only things shinier than Mac of All Trades’ reputation are the screens on the refurbished products it sells.

A big part of Mac of All Trades’ reputation as a seller of refurbished iPads and other goods is because of its testing process. The retailer’s testing process is in four parts, starting with unpacking the pre-owned device, doing a visual inspection, testing the hardware, before erasing the data and cleaning the iPad.

The iPad will be put through a 40-point visual inspection and then a hardware test as the screen, battery life, memory, graphics and more are all put to the test. The iPad will then be repaired, if needed, before it is cleaned, shrink-wrapped and labelled, ready to be shipped out to you.

Mac of All Trades’ discounts on refurbished iPads aren’t as strong as some of the others on the list. However, you can still save some good money on a refurbished iPad compared to one that you would buy brand new. The devices also come with free shipping.

One of its biggest discounts is for the 2014 iPad Air, which Mac of All Trades offers for $259 in good cosmetic condition or $279 if you buy it in excellent cosmetic condition. The good cosmetic condition version of the device is a discount of $320 or 55%.

It also offers a very small discount on newer iPads. The refurbished iPad Mini 2019 with 256GB of storage is being offered for $499 which is around $50 cheaper than the brand new price. This is a good deal as the iPad Mini 2019 was only released in March 2019, or three months ago.

A refurbished iPad from Mac of All Trades will come with a 90-day standard warranty. You can request a repair within 90 days of the iPad being delivered and the repair will typically be done within about three days.

If Mac of All Trades can’t repair the iPad then it will give you a replacement or, if no replacement is available, it will give you store credit.

Mac of All Trades also offers extended warranties, for one or two years, but these cost more. You can buy them within the time of the 90-day standard warranty, but the extended warranty will begin from the time your product was delivered.

Mac of All Trades offers just 18 refurbished iPads to choose from. There are refurbished iPads, iPad Minis, and iPad Pros with different storage sizes and colors.

This is a small amount of stock compared to other refurbished retailers such as Gazelle, which have more than 60 refurbished iPads to choose from. You may still be able to find a refurbished iPad that you like with Mac of All Trades, but it may not have the full list of models that Apple has released.

Apple where to buy refurbished iPad guide
The company that created the iPad, Apple, is famous for selling its tablet device at high prices. However, to appeal to people like you, who want to save money on their next iPad, the company has started to sell a small number of refurbished iPads.

Refurbished iPads from Apple, sold through its Apple Certified Refurbished program let you get Apple’s official packaging without paying brand new prices for it. It can be a good deal for serious Apple fans.

Refurbished iPads sold by Apple go through the Apple Certified Refurbished program which is where Apple engineers test, repair, and clean the product before selling it.

The iPad will have genuine Apple replacement parts if needed, and Apple gives every refurbished iPad a new battery and a new outer shell. You’ll also get the same official accessories, and charging cables that come with a brand new iPad.

You really do pay for the brand when you buy a refurbished iPad from Apple. Apple’s refurbished iPads are more affordable than when you buy them brand new, but you will still be paying more compared to the other refurbished retailers on this list.

The device is now out of stock, but Apple had been selling a refurbished iPad Pro 10.5-inch with 64GB of storage for $469, which is a saving of $80. However, the same model would only cost $439.00 if you bought it from Gazelle.

Apple’s refurbished iPad prices aren’t so much more expensive than the devices sold by other refurbished retailers. However, if you want to save as much money as possible, make sure to compare prices before you purchase.

One very good reason to buy refurbished iPads through Apple is for the warranty. Apple offers a free, one-year limited warranty on all of its refurbished devices.

With this warranty, you will get a free repair, replacement, or refund if your refurbished iPad is defective in any way.

Apple also has a warranty extension program, which allows you to purchase more AppleCare coverage for your refurbished iPad. This does cost money, however, so you may want to keep to the free one-year warranty if you’re on a tight budget.

It’s no surprise that the creator of the iPad has a good range of refurbished iPad stock. You can find refurbished iPad models from 2013, up to 2017.

It sells iPads, iPad Minis, and iPad Pros. You can get all different colors too, such as gold, rose gold, silver, and space gray and there are several storage options such as 512GB, 256GB, and 32GB.

However, as Apple would prefer if people paid full price for a brand new iPad, it doesn’t offer the newer iPad devices as refurbished. Apple also runs out of stock often and the iPad you want may quickly go out of stock. So, if you want a refurbished iPad 2018 or a refurbished iPad Mini 2019, you will have to look at other refurbished retailers.
